Nashville Opera needs your input!

I'm inviting up to 12 people to participate on Thursday, June 26th in a focus group discussion of our marketing strategy. Please call (615) 832-5242 and ask for Reed if you are interested in participating. The session will run from 6 pm to 8 pm at Nashville Opera (3628 Trousdale Drive, Suite D) and include refreshments! All participants will be given 2 Flex Tickets for use during the 2008-09 season!

Have you noticed the Raise Your Glasses billboards and buses around town? If so, what do you think of the campaign? Has the design tempted you to learn more about Raise Your Glasses? Do you have a favorite design?

We want to hear from you!

Since we started this blog about two months ago, Nashville Opera has been doing all of the yapping! We want to hear your thoughts on some of the things which we are doing at Nashville Opera- What you like, what you don't like, and what you wished we would do differently... Remember flattery will get you everywhere!

Here's the first topic: Nashville Opera's Flex Memberships! Do you like the idea? Have you heard about them? If so, where? Would you consider purchasing a Flex Membership which could be used for two performances instead of buying a pair of single tickets the day of each show?

Il Trovatore on WPLN's "Live in Studio C"

If you haven't had a chance to listen to John Hoomes' preview of Giuseppe Verdi's Il trovatore on our web site (click on the Screening Room), just tune in to Nashville Public Radio (WPLN 90.3 FM) this Tuesday, April 1 at 11:06 am. Host Will Griffin will welcome John, principal cast members, and Chorusmaster Amy Tate Williams to "Live in Studio C." They will discuss the opera and perform a few arias. The program will be re-broadcast at 8:06 pm that evening and also from their web site, www.wpln.org.

Exciting things happening at Nashville Opera!

Nashville Opera has an unbelievable new season for 2008-09, including John Hoomes' bold new visual interpretation of Mozart's Don Giovanni, a rare production of Romberg's delightful operetta The Student Prince, a magical staging of Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors which will be the company's first touring show, and Puccini's masterpiece of operatic drama, La Boheme.

The current season concludes with a production of one of the grandest operas ever written: Giuseppe Verdi's Il Trovatore. It's a swash-buckling tale of love, intrigue, and revenge set to a lush and melodic score. Big sets, costumes, and voices will make this production of Il Trovatore truly memorable. Tickets are available for either the Thursday, April 10th or Saturday, April 12th performances. Both feature the GRAMMY Award winning Nashville Symphony under the direction of Maestro Mark Flint.

Construction of Nashville Opera's new home, the Noah Liff Opera Center, continues at a fast pace. Thanks to all of the celebrities who helped the company increase awareness of the capital fundraising campaign for the new building and the endowment by raising their glasses for Nashville Opera! Check out the fleet of "Raise Your Glasses" MTA buses which will be rolling throughout Nashville this Spring.
